Here at Norwegian, we implement a type rating system. Because Norwegian only flies two aircraft which are in Infinite Flight, we have decided to implement this type rating system to keep things interesting for pilots!
Private Pilot Program
- Apprentice: 0-9:59 hours, can fly the TBM-930. As an Apprentice, you are allowed to fly into and out of any airport, but you must fly in or out of your hub. Your flights can be as long or short as you like, as long as the TBM can make it.
- Private pilot: 10-39:59, can fly the Cessna Citation X, as well as the CRJ-700. As a Private Pilot, you can still fly anywhere to or from your hub, as long as your plane can make it. This is to work toward your Commercial Pilot License.
- Commercial Pilot: 40-69:59, Norwegian 737-800. You've made it! As a Commercial Pilot, you will be allowed to fly any real-life Norwegian route flown on the 737. At this rank, you unlock special perks and upgrades!
- Fleet Commander: 70+ hours, Norwegian 787-9. You've reached the top of the rank system, and you become one of the most elite pilots at Norwegian Virtual. Unlocking the world at this rank, your possibilities are endless!
Cadet Program
- Student: 0-9:59 hours, can fly the TBM-930. While a student, you would fly the TBM as you would in flight school, and this gets you ready for what is to come!
- First Officer, 10-29:59 hours, 737-800 certified. As a First Officer, you will learn the ins and outs of flying with us, and you will surely gain much seniority with us!
- Captain, 30-54:59 hours, 737-800. As a captain, your a leader within the regional fleet. At this point, helping other new pilots learn is crucial for them to continue your legacy! You also receive a small bonus for you efforts!
- First officer, 55-79:59 hours, 787-9 certified. As a First Officer on the 787, you learn the ways of long haul travel. You will learn how to fly long haul the best, and you’ll get to enjoy new endeavors!
- Captain, 80+ hours, 787 and all other aircraft. As a captain on the 787, you’ve reached the top of the rank system, and it is now your duty to teach everyone under you. As captain on the 787, you also enjoy a small bonus!

Norwegian has many bases all around Europe, including London-Gatwick, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, and many more! Once our pilots become Commercial Pilots, our pilots will be able to choose from these and a few other bases, with a great amount of routes out of each base!
